Job Summary:
The Cloud Capacity Planner is responsible for assessing and forecasting the cloud infrastructure requirements to ensure optimal performance, cost efficiency, and scalability. Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze cloud infrastructure usage patterns, application workloads, and performance metrics to determine current and future capacity requirements.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders, including system administrators, developers, and business analysts, to gather relevant data and understand project demands.
3. Develop and maintain capacity planning models, utilizing historical data and growth projections, to optimize resource allocation.
4. Conduct regular capacity reviews and provide recommendations for optimizing cloud infrastructure utilization, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
5. Identify potential bottlenecks and risks in the cloud infrastructure and propose mitigation strategies.
6. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cloud capacity and make proactive adjustments as needed.
7. Prepare and present capacity planning reports, dashboards, and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
8. Work closely with procurement teams to ensure timely acquisition of cloud resources as required.
9. Stay up to date with emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve capacity planning processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in capacity planning, preferably in a cloud computing environment.
3. Strong knowledge of cloud computing technologies, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
4. Proficiency in analyzing cloud infrastructure usage patterns, performance metrics, and workload demands.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large data sets and complex systems.
